GROUNDED HORSEMANSHIP
The majority of the time we spend with our equine partners is not spent in the saddle. More often, we’re grooming, caring for the latest injury, or scheduling vet or farrier visits. Commonly referred to as “horse management,” these are the soft skills of horse care: bandaging, grooming, general first aid, and everything in between saddle time.
These skills are often gleaned from spending days at the barn with professional horsemen willing to share their knowledge. Fewer and fewer equestrians have those opportunities, whether due to cost constraints, family responsibilities, or simply the lack of accessible resources.
The Grounded Horsemanship program provides a platform for learning these kinds of skills for the new equestrian or the lifelong learner. These classes also align with Pony Club requirements for Horse Management certifications.
INSTRUCTION
Clinics are hosted regularly with a predetermined curriculum. Choose a date and a series of topics that work for you.
Don’t see any dates that work for you? Start developing a custom lesson plan that addresses your interests.
Trainers and Instructors
Christie will work with you to create sessions that focus on priorities in your program.
For example, if a trainer or instructor has students that need to practice bandaging, or jogging in-hand, or basic grooming, Christie can develop a lesson plan tailored to the equine care topics your students need the most.
